Hi. I'm Martyn Steiner. Call me Martyn.
I live in Oxford and have been teaching for about ten years. I did Biology at Bristol Uni and then a Masters in "Politics, Development and Democratic Education" at Cambridge.
I've done research on stuff like the importance of bees as pollinators, the use of GM on African farms, and the reasons why students do or don't study science.
There are 8 topics. You'll learn about:
Environmental Value Systems
Ecosystems and Ecology
Biodiversity and conservation
Water
Soil
Atmosphere
Climate change
Human resource use
You have to do two exams and one bit of coursework. More on this later.
It is important that you do lots of reading around the subject. See the Go Green site for guidance.
I'm going to work super hard, and so are you. If you do, you'll learn loads of fascinating and useful stuff and get a good grade.
It is HUGELY important to me that you have an amazing experience in these lessons. Come and chat with me if anything is getting in the way of that. I've got thick skin.
Let's look now at the home page.
