Carbon has been moved from the fossil fuel source to the atmospheric sink.
The residence time for CO₂ in the atmosphere is about four years. The rate of input exceeds the rate of output, so it builds up; by definition this is pollution.
We therefore need to sequester carbon. Brainstorm: where could we put the excess carbon?

You'll be having a chat with an expert at the International Conference for Disenchanted Sequesters. The expert will rant to you about the unworkability of the solution - your job is to play dumb and act like you don't understand any of the science they're telling you, but also to let the conversation flow and allow them to get their rant out.
Once your chat has run out of steam, you must create a social media stream for the expert you spoke to. What are they ranting about on their TikTok/Instagram/X/LinkedIn etc.?
We need all of these things. But, most importantly, we need to stop adding carbon dioxide to the atmosphere.
