You will work as a team to redesign a section of Edgware Road, applying urban planning principles to create a more sustainable and inclusive urban environment. This project will include researching, designing, and building a scale model, culminating in a presentation to local community members and stakeholders.
Each of you will take on a specific role with distinct responsibilities:
Community Liaison: Represents the needs and feedback of local residents and businesses.
Transport Specialist: Plans efficient and sustainable transport systems.
Architect: Designs innovative and eco-friendly buildings.
Cultural Historian: Ensures cultural heritage and local identity are reflected.
Economist: Manages project costs and ensures financial feasibility.
Energy Consultant: Integrates renewable and energy-efficient solutions.
Waste Consultant: Plans effective waste management and recycling systems.
Water Consultant: Designs sustainable water systems, focusing on conservation and flood management.
Crazy 8s Brainstorming: Rapidly generate diverse ideas for redesigning the area.
Canvassing Ideas: Gather opinions and inspiration from peers, teachers, and local stakeholders.
Visit to Edgware Road: Photograph key features, note challenges, and identify opportunities for improvement.
Developing Ideas Individually: Create preliminary designs or solutions based on your role.
Collaborative Planning: Structure and organize teamwork to integrate ideas into a cohesive design.
Model Making: Build a scale model showcasing your redesigned section of Edgware Road.
Community Feedback: Present your ideas to local stakeholders and gather their input.
Redrafting: Refine your model and ideas based on feedback received.
